Local Mom Wins Make-Over Event and Learns “What to Wear”
Congratulations Sharisse Brutto of Macungie, PA! It all started when her husband treated her to a Wardrobe Audit by ClothesZing! , a Wardrobe Consulting Company in Fogelsville, PA. As a full-time working mom of a three year old, Sharisse wanted more options within her wardrobe for dressing in a business casual atmosphere.
By booking her initial appointment in February, Sharisse was entered, and won, a Make-Over Event sponsored by ClothesZing!, Metro Beauty Academy, and Premiere Design Jewelry. The Make-Over took place at Metro Beauty Academy , Allentown, PA on March 13, 2010, at 9:30 a.m.
Sharisse’s goal was to look and feel her best everyday, and to learn how to express her own personal style. She found that this was surprisingly uncomplicated!
Personal Stylist and owner of ClothesZing!, Kathy Moses, says the key to developing your own personal style is to figure out what works for best for you- and stick with it. It begins with the basics, finding which cuts flatter your figure. Finding the right fit and colors, and focusing your choices, results in a wardrobe that coordinates and flatters. It also saves money in the long run by no longer buying the wrong items. Next, add accessories! Accessories are the quickest and most inexpensive way to update and optimize your wardrobe. They can change the look or mood of an outfit by creating polish and panache.
Step One in Sharisse’s Make-Over was to do a Wardrobe Audit to analyze what Sharisse had, what outfits could be made from her current wardrobe(more than she ever thought) ,and what she needed to fill in some gaps in her wardrobe. Because she wanted some new options to mix and match with current items in her closet, a shopping trip with Kathy was in order.
Her “new” outfit consisted of a navy, linen blazer paired with a tan and navy tiered ruffle, sleeveless blouse from Ann Taylor LOFT at the Lehigh Valley Mall. The perfect fit tan pant from Express was ordered at the Lehigh Valley Mall location, and shipped directly to her house when they did not have her size in the store.
To accessorize, Liz Meixsell added the finishing touch with jewelry from Premiere Design Jewelry. She and Kathy demonstrated how accessories can finish the “look”. They choose the “Bellissimo”, a three strand silver rope and faux pearl necklace, with a toggle closure, to compliment Sharisse’s outfit.
The last step was a trip to Metro Beauty Academy for hair and make-up. Stylist Sandy Hudson trimmed and styled Sharisse’s hair, while demonstrating how to style the cut and what products would work the best on her hair. Andrea Lehr showed Sharissse the make-up colors and application techniques that bring out her natural features , using a simple routine that can fit into her busy mornings.
The end result? A stress-free morning, where getting dressed is fun! Sharisse knows she has something to wear, how to wear it, and what to put with it. Hair and make-up can be done in minutes, creating a polished, daytime look that compliments her natural features. She has a unique and flattering look that is all her own, everyday!
